A residential install from RM Lighting Solutions covers the design, the lights, the labor, the timer, in-season maintenance and the takedown. We bring commercial-grade C9 LED bulbs on strands custom cut to your roofline, clip them on with professional clips, set a timer, and come back after the holidays to take everything down. If a bulb goes out, we replace it within 24 hours.
Most customers want clean, symmetrical roofline lighting. Warm white is the look people ask for most and it has never gone out of style. We also do red and white, multicolor, and single colors for Chiefs fans, Jayhawks fans and anyone else with a strong opinion. You pick the bulb color on the quote form and the mockup shows you how it reads on your house before you commit.
Why does it matter that a roofer hangs your lights?
Ray Mendoza, the owner, has been a professional roofer for over nine years and has handled more than $10 million in exterior projects. He knows where to step on a roof, how to clip to a drip edge without lifting shingles, and how to route cords so nothing rubs or pools water. Most holiday lighting companies are seasonal crews. This one is a roofer who happens to hang lights.
That shows up in the small things. Clips go where they belong on the shingle edge, not punched through the fascia. Peaks and valleys get measured strands instead of a bundle of extra bulbs tucked behind a gutter. The roof you had in October is the roof you have in January.

How does the process work?
- Fill out the form or call. Tell us the address and the bulb color you like.
- We measure from the sky. Satellite imagery gives us your roofline lengths, so no site visit is needed for most quotes.
- You get a proposal with a mockup of your house. It shows the layout on your actual home, with Good, Better and Best options. Response time is usually 1 to 2 hours.
- Pick a package and pay the $100 deposit. That holds your install date.
- We install. Custom-cut strands, pro clips, timer set. Most homes take a couple of hours.
- We maintain. Bulb out, cord issue, timer question, we handle it within 24 hours.
- We take it down and store it. Scheduled after the holidays, labeled and stored for next season if you are on the seasonal lease.
What does a residential install cost?
Residential installs start at $500. The final number depends on how much roofline you want lit, how many peaks and gables there are, and whether you add trees, bushes, wreaths or garland. The proposal lays it out as Good, Better and Best packages so you can see what each level covers on your own house.

Where do you install residential lights?

What kind of lights does RM Lighting Solutions put on a house?
RM Lighting Solutions installs commercial-grade C9 LED bulbs on a custom-cut strand. Each run is measured to your roofline so there are no loose ends or doubled-up bulbs at the corners. The clips are professional roofline clips, not nails or staples, and every install runs on a timer so the lights come on by themselves at dusk.
Do I have to be home for the quote?
No. We pull the measurements for your roofline from satellite imagery and build a proposal with a mockup of your exact house, so for most homes nobody needs to come out before you say yes. You tell us the bulb color you are leaning toward and you get the proposal back, usually within a couple of hours.
What happens if a bulb goes out during the season?
Call the number on your proposal and we come fix it within 24 hours. In-season maintenance is part of every residential install, so bulb replacements and troubleshooting are already covered. You do not pay a service fee and you do not get on a ladder.
When do residential installs start and how early should I book?
Seasonal installs start October 1 and run through the holidays. The calendar fills from the front, so the earliest bookings get the earliest install dates and the best pick of days. Booking in October means your lights are up well before Thanksgiving. Book later and you take the next open slot.
