About
Already on the roof.
Might as well hang the lights.
RM Lighting Solutions LLC is owned and run by Ray Mendoza out of Topeka, Kansas.
How this started
Ray has been in and around roofing his whole life. His father is a roofer. Ray has been professionally roofing for 9 going on 10 years now, understands the complexity of exterior projects and has handled more than $10 million worth of them. RM Lighting Solutions started in 2025 for a simple reason. He was already on roofs. Holiday lighting is the part of the year the roofing crew is on the same ladders doing a job that looks a lot better at night.
Every lead that comes in, Ray tells people who he is and why this company is different from the average lighting company. Here is how he puts it.
What sets RM Lighting Solutions apart is my professional roofing background. With over 9 years of hands-on experience in the roofing industry and more than $10 million in roofing projects completed, I bring a level of construction knowledge, attention to detail, and safety awareness that most holiday lighting companies can’t match. I understand rooflines, materials, pitches, and proper installation techniques, allowing me to design lighting displays that complement each home’s architecture while prioritizing the protection of the property.
We use commercial-grade lighting and custom-cut strands for a clean, professional fit. From installation and maintenance to bulb replacements and seasonal takedown, we provide dependable service and take pride in doing the job right. You’re not just hiring someone to hang Christmas lights. You’re hiring an experienced exterior professional who understands your home and stands behind his work.

What a job with us looks like
We always answer the phone. You send the address and a bulb color, we measure the roofline from satellite imagery, and you get back an interactive proposal with a mockup of your exact home showing Good, Better and Best options. No in-person visit for most quotes. Response time is usually 1 to 2 hours.
Installs start October 1. The crew brings commercial-grade C9 LED strands custom cut for your roofline, professional clips and a timer. If a bulb goes out during the season we fix it within 24 hours. After the holidays we take it all down on a scheduled date and, on the seasonal lease, label and store it for next year. Permanent year-round lighting is installed any month.
